Quality Assurance Editor

The Regis Company is a forward-thinking leadership and business consulting firm that creates interactive business simulations for Fortune 500 clients and large government agencies. We’re headquartered in beautiful downtown Golden, Colorado—home of Rocky Mountain spring water and the Colorado Alpine Club. We are looking for a gifted professional editor with uncanny copy editing, proofreading, and document management skills to help us out on a project and “as needed” basis.

Quality Assurance Editor—Freelance

You are a trained editor and proofreader with a knack for picking out mistakes in text, graphics, electronic media—and everything else you see. You are a quick learner and an MS Office guru and can work diplomatically with a variety of personalities. If you live to help make whatever products you work on the best quality possible, we want to talk to you!

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Performing copy editing and proofreading for written documents of all varieties
  • Examining content for logic, clarity, and consistency of message across projects
  • Verifying accuracy and checking sources of content when necessary
  • Ensuring adherence to our best practices and style guides
  • Maintaining and developing client- or project-specific style guidelines, when applicable
  • Editing and ensuring quality of online content, including text, multimedia, HTML, and XML assets
  • Performing technical quality assurance to verify functionality of online simulations and microsimulations
  • Working collaboratively with all staff, including project managers, other QA editors, program directors, and design consultants
  • Ensuring QA task deadlines are met
  • Uploading and formatting approved documents on the company wiki or the SharePoint site

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a similar discipline
  • At least five years of editing experience
  • High-level copy editing and proofreading skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications, and the ability to learn and absorb other styles as needed
  • Advanced-level competency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, XML, and CSS, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while achieving the quality standards established for each project
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects at the same time while maintaining attention to detail

UX Developer/Interaction Designer

We’re looking for a flexible, collaborative user experience ninja who wants to tackle human- centered, real-world design challenges and help build a design system from the ground up. You’re a well-rounded professional who connects the dots between business needs, innovation and good design, has experience driving user experience from start to finish and is obsessed with user-centric design practices.

You’ll deliver UX designs and implementations that will help our products meet and exceed client expectations and take the user experience of the brand to the next level within an Agile Scrum environment. A consummate educator, you seek and advocate for ease of functional use and market-forward aesthetic for our clients. You enjoy taking on multiple challenges simultaneously, working in small teams and tackling everything from user research to prototyping.

Candidate will be requested to present a portfolio of their design work along with a brief personal summary highlighting their qualifications for the position. Reports to Senior Director of Experience Design.


  • Design and implement intuitive web experiences for client projects (50%)
  • Work with product leads and program management to define and deliver to schedule
  • Ensure UI designs are consistent through establishing and communicating standards
  • Research, collaborate on and implement design system and style guide across an in-house software tool (50%)
  • Work closely with Management and developers in a small teams to develop next generation solutions for user workflows
  • Analyze customer data to inform UX changes
  • Design and implement testing strategies for UX improvements


  • 4+ years of user interface design experience, including information architecture and visual design skills (information design, typography, color, etc.)
  • Excellent design literacy, particularly around responsive/fluid and adaptive design
  • Highly proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, AdobeXD, and/or Axure
  • Experience participating at all stages of a project including client insights, conception, prototyping, and detailed design

Instructional Design Consultant (Contract)

Role Overview

Leverage your knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory.  In this position, you create learning materials to support key learning and behavior change in the client’s business environment. Your responsibilities include understanding the client’s problems and issues in a business context, creating materials for a variety of learning modalities, including creating leader guides and participant materials that support mental model-driven design. As an instructional design consultant, we expect you to bring exceptional technical and writing skills. You work with a team of designers in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment in which your flexibility and drive get the job done. Your knowledge and skill execute the vision for our outstanding learning products and ensure high-quality deliverables to support world-class learning.

  • You quickly gain an understanding of the client’s business, strategic objectives and issues and use them to inform development of the learning materials that support the vision for the end product.
    Throughout the project, you work with your teammates to ensure all team members are able to meet their commitments.
  • You coordinate with the product owner to guide and facilitate project activities to ensure client goals are met according to identified constraints.
  • You create product documentation such as course design summary, content outlines, storyboards and activity outlines to communicate the design architecture and requirements at the appropriate level of detail for your audience (clients, peers and managers).
  • You produce creative learning materials in a wide variety for formats to support the learner experience – online, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and PDF.
  • You manage your time and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality materials and you communicate issues and blockers appropriately to your project team–no one likes surprises.

Required Skills

  • BA or MBA in a business or education discipline
  • A minimum of three years of experience in training or instructional design
  • Demonstrated knowledge in adult learning theory
  • Demonstrated skill in developing courses in Articulate Storyline learning authoring tool
  • Exposure to and interest in ILT or rich multi-media computer-based learning
  • Advanced level competency with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional personal, written and presentation skills
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to identify and interpret key technical content

Contract Instructional Designer

  • Work with The Regis Company (TRC) product owner to clarify and execute the vision for the learning program
  • Participate in internal and external design meetings, using TRC-established process and guidelines
  • Create and communicate the product design to gain convergence with the client as it relates to the proposed learning solution
  • Identify relevant content, models and constructs to support participant learning throughout the learning program
  • Create storyboards using MSWord
  • Develop learning program in MSOffice suite or Articulate Storyline

This position is a time and materials contract position reporting to the assigned product owner. Successful candidates will provide samples of previous work and complete a background check.
