Since co-founding the company in 2003, Mike Vaughan has been the visionary behind The Regis Company’s simulation platform and methodologies. Prior to Regis, Mike introduced one of the first learning management systems and learning content managements systems to the learning and development industry. Mike has served as an executive and technology officer at International Learning Systems and Alignmark, a Thomson Publishing company. Mike holds degrees in cognitive science, computer science and a masters in cognitive neuroscience. In addition to speaking at TedX on the power of questions, Mike authored “The Thinking Effect”, “The End of Training” and “Strategic Performance Learning: How to Rethink Thinking”. Mike continues to do research in the areas of mental models, team effectiveness and agility.
Mike Kester is co-president and managing director of The Regis Company. He serves as the program executive for commercial engagements related to global strategic change, operations transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and major growth efforts. Michael has been involved in strategic initiatives at dynamic companies such as Abbott Laboratories, BNSF Railway, Citi Group, DaVita, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, UPS, Walgreens, Wendy’s, and the U.S. Air Force. Michael is a former consultant with McKinsey & Company and worked as a financial analyst for Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking group, now Trilantic Capital Partners. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and was a recipient of the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship.
As vice president of operations at The Regis Company, Kevin Himmel is responsible for supporting and overseeing software development, experience design, global deployment, and support functions. Since joining The Regis Company in 2003, Kevin has contributed to spearheading transformative learning initiatives at some of the world’s largest companies. Kevin remains focused on driving The Regis Company’s operational efficiencies by building intuitive and scalable software, emphasizing human-centered design, and supporting greater value through the use of agile frameworks. Kevin earned a master’s degree in instructional technology and a bachelor’s degree in management and entrepreneurship, both from Northern Illinois University.
As Chief Scientific Officer of The Regis Company, Grace Chang focuses on applying knowledge from neuroscience research to the business world by developing assessment approaches that bring meaningful data insights to clients. She leads the Assessment Center and co-leads the Advanced Learning Intelligence practice at The Regis Company. Prior to The Regis Company, Grace received her Ph.D. in the area of cognitive neuroscience, specializing in human learning and memory. She spent several years developing assessments and conducting assessment research at UCLA’s National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards & Student Testing. She also taught behavioral neuroscience at UCLA and graduate level neuroleadership courses to business professionals as a lead professor for the NeuroLeadership Institute. Over the years, she has delivered numerous neuroscience-based lectures or lectures on Advanced Learning Intelligence at a variety of national learning, leadership, and development conferences.
Andy Tanner is the Chief Analytics Officer for The Regis Company, where he leads the Advanced Learning Intelligence division. In this role, Andy is responsible for enabling clients to measure their program effectiveness through analytics strategies and techniques. Andy also serves as a program director for all Regis Company data analytics curriculum which involves curriculum reviews, design studies, ILT and vILT course development, and development of data analytics business simulations. With nearly 20 years of experience in consulting executive roles for organizations like Ernst & Young, Andy has served multiple Fortune 500 companies in solving their critical business challenges through the application of analytics. Andy continues to champion awareness and acumen of Advanced Learning Intelligence for clients and market leaders, including participating in global speaking engagements.
As senior director of The Regis Company client services team, Dianne Miller is responsible for the design integrity of all Regis-produced custom offerings. She has pioneered a framework that applies leading edge design thinking methodologies to the creation of leadership and critical thinking solutions. Dianne has more than 20 years of experience creating innovative leadership programs at multiple levels of global organizations, including professional services, defense, oil and gas, financial services, and government industries. She has spearheaded several award-winning programs, receiving recognition from Brandon Hall, ILEA and CLO Magazine.
As Chief Technology Officer, Shane is responsible for directing the software, systems, and security strategy for The Regis Company. With close to 30 years of software development, systems architecture, and technology management experience, Shane has designed, built, and managed numerous cutting-edge, highly scalable, global software solutions. As a technology leader, Shane has led the vision and managed large and small technology organizations across local and global landscapes. His industry experience includes financial services, social networks, and elearning organizations. While at Regis, Shane has spearheaded the design and development of Regis' authoring environment and server-side platform, while managing the ongoing delivery of client projects.
As vice president of client services, Joel Janov leads the The Regis Company’s client services division bringing his experience in organizational development, leadership development, and operations leadership to bear on the design and delivery of leading-edge learning and development programs for clients around the globe. Joel has been instrumental in driving client success at organizations such as Abbott Laboratories, BNSF Railway, Novartis, Intel, Ernst & Young, UPS, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and the U.S. Air Force. Joel has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in human resources development with a focus on organizational performance and change management. He is also a certified executive coach.
Emily Ricci leads user experience strategy for The Regis Company. In pioneering an organizational visual language, Emily unites teams across all products and services and helps drive The Regis Company’s innovation agenda. Emily’s charter includes applying human-centered design methodology to the end-to-end client experience and codifying UX requirements for The Regis Company’s proprietary technologies. Emily has more than 12 years of experience creating innovative solutions for global clients in the pharmaceutical, aeronautics, transportation, education, professional services, financial, restaurant, and government industries. As a designer, Emily has led end-to-end development of multiple award-winning programs, receiving recognition from Brandon Hall, CLO Magazine, Training Top 125, and ATD’s BEST Awards. She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a master's degree in human performance and training.
